hi everyone, firstly, my apologies for the delay in peppermint carob and dates. i ordered peppermint carob correctly but we were delivered strawberry yoghurt swirls, i rang up and they said they'd fix it; georgie rang up and they were really rude to her. they haven't yet fixed it. i'm currently angling for an apology, if we don't get one there's going to have to be some soul-searching because they are the cheapest place, but it's not the first time they've been rude, and it was their mistake. we order the dates from the same supplier and i'm currently trying to find out if we can get them just (or almost) as cheaply from our other major supplier.
as for everything else, unless it is something that will sell quickly, expect to see things running out over the next couple of weeks. while there has been no decision as yet as to when we will stop opening the shop every day, it's likely that from stuvac onwards there'll be a drop in custom, so i'm going to start running stock down NOW. this means DISCOUNTS (possibly large ones) on things which i think won't keep or will get bugs if they stay in the shop over summer, particularly if we have a pretty full barrel. first will be a discount on the flour (sometime in the next couple of days, once i figure out how much to discount it by). in addition, you'll be able to BULK ORDER certain things. currently on offer are: tofu packs ($2.95 each), tempeh burger packs (18 burgers for $13.75!!!), soy milk ($26.85 for a box of 12; you will also be able to buy half-boxes for $13.75; natural (malted) and unmalted are available), mango buckets ($29.70), spices and teas (prices vary), licorice ($22.85 for 6kg of non-organic; not sure about the organic but i think that's 10kg and quite a bit more expensive), juice ($23.30 for a box of 8 bottles, if you want to mix and match flavours you might want to talk to other people, again you can buy half boxes for $12, orange, clear apple and cloudy apple are available). note the only things that NEED refrigeration are the tofu, tempeh burgers and mango. the licorice is better in the fridge but if it's not there it's still ok. if you want to bulk order a whole bag of some kind of grain (you can usually get a 10kg or a 50kg bag) or snacky things (such as soy chips or bhuja mix or rice crackers) or a whole box of carob or yoghurt swirls (works out to about $46/10kg, if i'm not ordering from the rude place, select - if i order from there it'll be a bit cheaper) you are also welcome to do so. you are also welcome to order things we don't usually stock, such as pasta (which we don't stock since we can only get it in little bags, and thus defeats our purpose of doing away with packaging), other carob flavours, other grains, other types of dried fruits (some of which you can also get in small packs), other nuts. remember, these bulk order offers are ALWAYS available, it's just that with the summer holidays coming up i'm happy to make an order filled ONLY by bulk orders. the only catch? if i can't make the order up to a certain price (different from different suppliers), we can't get delivery. this won't be a problem for soy milk, juice, tempeh burgers or tofu; as for the other things, it just depends. so, if you want to place a bulk order, please email me or leave me a message in the shop (on the ordering clipboard, and please include contact details such as a non-mobile number or an email address, please do not leave money with the order) BY NOVEMBER 14. i'll place the orders monday november 17th, and they'll come in on tuesday, wednesday or thursday depending on which supplier we order from. i'll contact you once i've ordered to let you know when it will come in and how much it will cost, and you can pay when you pick it up. please note, if you change your mind and don't let me know, and i order it anyway, if we can't sell it before it goes off you will have to pay anyway. i know this sounds harsh, but we can't afford to have to throw out a whole lot of stock. good luck with assignments and exams :) xbrenda If you no longer want to be on this mailing list, please send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with unsubscribe food-co-op in the body text. If it does not work please email me (robert) with your email address in the body text at [EMAIL PROTECTED] - regards :)
