Hi all!
There seems to be some confusion about the towel/hand washing system thing at the moment and the system has broken down. it appears people dont know where the clean ones, dirty ones are kept and when and how they get changed and what towels get used for what.
So a friendly reminder: Health and safetly wise and for the good of the coop its really importnat that we use the towel system so i've cut and pasted the details below. please take the time to read it and make sure you understand it and remember to use it
if there are any queries please let me know.
People on first shift
*At the beginning of each day please place the previous day tea-towel and hand-towel in the dirty towel bag and replace them with clean towels from the clean towel bag. The dirty and clean towel bags are kept next to the phone. The towels are labelled with the day of the week, so please use the correct towels to make it easier to check that clean towels has been provided.
All workers
*When starting your shift, or when your hands become dirty during your shift, you touch your face etc, wash your hand with soap and dry them thoroughly on the paper towel or hand towel provided. The hand towels are the fluffy brightly coloured ones on the rack above the basin and are clearly labelled as hand towels. Do not dry your hands on the tea-towels.
*Do not touch stock with your hands, please use the tongs, scoops or disposable gloves provided to handle stock. If necessary also remind customers to use the utensils provided and not their hands to access stock.
*Clean tea-towels are available for drying utensils, cups and plates. Do not dry the recycled containers but follow the sterile washing procedures (instructions are provided on a sign above the sink).
*Only use the dish brush for cleaning containers, crockery and cutlery. Use sponges for cleaning shelves and the sink.
*If utensils are dropped or placed on the counter or any other dirty surface, or become dirty, please wash them or leave them near the sink for washing.
*If you have to mop a spill on the floor, use the mop, a rag or scrap paper. The rags are kept in the rag bag attached to the corner of the shelving in front of the sink. After using a rag, please put it in the dirty towel bag kept next to the phone. If you have to use a sponge, please throw it out immediately as we cant currently manage having clean and dirty sponges.
People on closing shift.
*Please wipe down the hand-basin with the dirty hand towel.
*Please wipe down the sink with a sponge
Towel washing
*The Coops towel and rag washer will provide five clean hand towels and five clean tea towels every week and will also wash and return the dirty rags
cheers
