Well,

now that the "internet" is "fixed" i can merrily send this around
Regrettably it is in text format this time because my acrobat exploded.
So I figure I'll just paste it here.

About the next meeting; anything we do will get incorporated into the moving and the AGM in which we have to pass some accounts or some such. So keep one ear on the up

Over and Out

danesh

Minutes (doubleplusgood)

Whom: Rob, Ellen, Gem, Monika, Danesh, Rachel
Where: Outside the shop in a nice temperature shade
When: 3/11/04, 5:25-5:57 now with 10% less time!

Fax Machine Offer
The GOP is replacing their fax and want to know if we want their old one. If we do want it do we want it in the office or in the shop. Rob as representative of Vegies says it would be handy so we shall keep it somewhere for now. Even if we don't use it we can give it to someone else (SOS). Even if SOS don't use it Rob says we can give it to the Union because their fax machine SUX.

Veggies and the Move and Restructuring Idea
Gem thinks we should have an additional meeting (with more people) to talk about things that are high impacting and largely relate to the new shop. ``Thoughtful Foods Futures Meeting''. Things to talk about would include fruit and vegetable ordering being included as part of the co-op. Rob (as vegetable representative) says that that would probably be fine so long as it can be handled in terms of the financial books.

Ok'ing Gem to sign the Lease and Looking at Some Details (Electricity, Water, Phone Line Bills)
Agreement rather than the lease. We're not going to have a lease just yet but there is an agreement to sign. A legal agreement no less. This is necessary more or less because our current lease is a shamozzle so we can't just use the old one as a model for the new one. No one has a problem with Gem signing this agreement.

End of Session Meeting/Pre-Move Clean Up
We need an AGM, but before that we need a board of directors (before the account books can be signed by the accountant. Or something). So we need a board of directors right now. The usual people are ordering person, co-ordinator, vegetables person, someone who is around campus a lot which turns out to be me. We don't have any outstanding debts or legal problems, the only one being that the Guild still owes us money.

Oxfam
We may get an opportunity to be used as a channel for schools and faculties to buy fair trade tea and coffee which Oxfam would promote.

Zine workshop/screen printing workshop
We can do this kind of stuff together with moving, and talking about our future, and things like that. This kind of stuff to be happening after exams when hopefully we have the new shop.

Bulk Orders for Holidays
Suggestion that we can have people take barrels full of things they bulk order for the holidays. We can pack the barrels in Brenda's garage. Ellen will be taking orders before the next week so we can do everything in time no matter how randomly the shop move turns out. So if you want a barrel full o' stuff then get onto Ellen about it yo.

Logarithmic Pricing Scale
A suggestion that we mark up expensive things less - maybe have a mark up scale from 1.9 for cheap things down to 1.4 for expensive things or whatever. But the mark ups are constructed deliberately so that at a 40% discount the 1.8 mark up comes down to cost + 10%. Any toying with the mark up formula would make us toy with the discount formula too and it would quickly become complicated. So it's probably not worth the hassle; expensive items are a good chance to try to upsell membership to non-members in any case.
