EXTRAORDINARY GENERAL MEETING

it will be an afternoon of fun! relaxing, drinking
tea, eating snacks and planning for the coming year.
>>there will be a BAKE-OFF with a prize of goods from
the shop for the best sweet.
>>there will also be TRAINING SESSIONS at 2 and 4 for
anyone who wants to learn how to work in the shop, or
how to be a trainer.
>>members are encouraged to PLEASE COME ALONG. a few
of our key workers are leaving this year, and we
really need support from you to KEEP THE CO-OP OPEN
and functioning.
>>there are lots of things to be done in the shop,
from working an hour a week, to washing towels, or
taking on a management committee position. so come
along
DRAFT AGENDA
1.evaluation of 2005 so far
a space for evaluating our strengths and weaknesses.
2.ideas session
a space to voice ideas for how to improve
afore-mentioned weaknesses. and to imagine how we want
the co-op to look next year.
3.training
training is necessary before people work in the shop,
and we desperately require more members wroking in the
shop. trainging sessions will be run at 2 and 4,
aiming to train enough people to keep the shop open
more often for the rest of semester, and to train
those interested in becoming future trainers.
4.ordering
a clarification of ordering procedures for the rest of
semester, and beginning of 2006. discussion about
vegies over the summer break.
5.planning for 2006
ideas for o-week, promotion and recruitment.
6.vsu
agreeing upon a unified position as a
co-operative.discussing it's ramifications for the
food co-op, and how we can be prepared for it's
possible implementation.
7.nomination for management committee positions
including re-assessing of role descriptions.
positions open for nomination are as follows. if you
take up a position, you receive a 25% discount for
working 1hr/week and 40% discount for 2hrs/week- just
like working in the shop.
there will be nomination forms available on the day,
nominations clos at 6pm. voting (if necessary) will be
open for the week following, closing at 6pm on october
13th.
positions available are:
>>co-ordinators- internal and external (approx
8hrs*see below for more details)
>>accounts and fundraising (2hrs)
>>membership(2hrs)
>>roster(1hr)
>>ordering(2hrs)
>>training(2hrs)
>>website(2hrs)
>>cottage industry(1-2hrs)
>>project officers(1-2hrs) (possible projects being
aesthetics, mural, product research, fundraisers)
>>meetings person(2hrs)
>>publicity(1-2hrs)
there are also other jobs which need doing, such as
towel washing(1hr)
8.general business
a space for all other business to be raised.
*coordinators - 2hrs volunteer like everyone else to
earn discounts then 12.5$ a hour for up to 6 paid
hours each (ie up 2 six paid hours for internal and
six paid hours for external).
