Hi all,
Next week
(commencing Monday September 25th) is mid session break so there no
classes for people who are uni students. We will only be open on
Thursday, September 28th that week, from around 1030am to 6pm.
However, veggies will still be happening this week. So
that veggies go smoothly & we dont order your box on the wrong week it is
really important that anyone who wants to order veggies during the break (on
Thursday, September 28th) make sure to write mid session break on your form.
If instead you want veggies the week uni goes back (i.e. on October
5th), please write Week 10 on your envelope.
Even though we
will not be open during our normal hours on and Wednesday of next week, we will
be having a working bee on Tuesday, September 26th from 10:30 until 5pm.
During this time we will clean, tidy, and repair various things
around the shop, and it would be helpful to have a bunch of people show up
so that we can do as much as possible that day. If you're interested in helping
please let me know - you will receive a normal discount (25% for one hour, 40%
for two hours) for any work you do and Monika is bringing lunch for the
volunteers. Rentata will also be doing some gardening on Thursday, September
28th in the afternoon. Anyone who is interested in helping out with that is also
welcome.
And,
finally, two reminders. First, veggies must be picked up by 5pm
or at the very latest by 6pm on Thursdays. If you know you cant make it, please
make sure you call the co-op (9385 6097) to let us know and we will try &
sort something out. If you do not show up by 6pm and we are not able to contact
you, we will give your box away to a good cause.
Secondly, when
uni comes back on Monday, October 2nd, we will go back to our
normal opening hours (which are core hours of Tuesday& Wednesday
10.30am-4.30pm & Thursdays 10am-6pm & from 1130am-230pm on Mondays
& Fridays, pending volunteers). For those of you who do
work in the shop, please try to fill the gaps in the roster before
signing up to work with someone else. If you cannot work anytime on Tuesday thru
to Thursday, or if all the shifts are full, you are
welcome to sign up for a Monday or Friday shift. It is important, however,
that we fill the core hours first before filling up the shifts on Monday and
Friday. If youre interested in volunteering in the co-op but havent been
to a training session, please contact Monika ([EMAIL PROTECTED], 0414
901 276) or myself (0410 142 928) so we can arrange a time. We generally
run training sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday at 12pm and
3pm.
That's it! I
hope each of you has a wonderful, relaxing break.
Best
wishes,
Shannon
