hi all!
we now have eggs! they are farmer direct, bulk/minimally packaged, free range and cheap. michelle who is picking them up from the farmer & taking them to the coop for us has seen the chickens running around happily so they are definately really free range. we get them in trays of 2 1/2 dozen & the trays go back to the farmer to get reused. this means you need to bring in an old egg carton to take your eggs home in.
eggs arrive at the coop on thursday and we are selling them as a normal shop item in lots of a dozen ($3.60) or half a dozen ($1.80). this means normal discoutns apply so 10% discount for food coop members ($3.24 for dozen, $1.62 for half a dozen), 25% discount for members who have worked at least 1 hr that week ($2.70 for a dozen, $1.35 for half a dozen) and 40% off for members who've worked two or more hours that week ($2.16 for a dozen, $1.08 for half a
dozen).
there is a list on one of the clipboards behind the counter to say you want eggs & how many you want. orders for eggs need to be in by the end of tuesday (same as veggies) but you pay for them when you pick them up.
for this week only you can give me a text on 0414 901 276 with your name & number of eggs before 9am wednesday cos of the late notice.
