In terms of using FOP as a servlet, we have some instructions at the end of http://xml.apache.org/fop/embedding.html. I have never used iWS as anything but a static-HTML front-end for iAS (that is, iAS and not iWS handles servlets), so I don't know if things will be quite as simple for iWS, but it probably is. If you have any problems please let us know what FOP distribution you are working with.
