As far as I know viewBox was implemented before Batik came in. The implementation for the viewBox in Batik still isn't there: This is what is in org.apache.batik.dom.svg.SVGOMSVGElement.java: public SVGAnimatedRect getViewBox() { throw new RuntimeException(" !!!
