Font metrics

I have a problem with the fonts in the AWT Preview.

  e.g. :
        
        <fo:inline font-family="Helvetica" font-size="9pt">25. Abfahren
.....</fo:inline>

                looks like: "25. Abf arhen ....."

        or "von" -> "v on"

Is this a known bug, or are my fonts damaged?

Can I replace the standard fonts?
