This was a known problem. I believe that a fix has been committed to CVS, but I do not think that it has been incorporated into a distribution. There was talk of another distribution (last I heard it was planned for early in the new year).
The fix should be in CVS, so if you can build from CVS you should be able to get the tables to work correctly.
