Is there any obvious difference between the GIFs that do work, and those that don't (larger/more colours/higher res)? Have you tried opening the GIFs in a photo editor, and saving them again (works sometimes for JPEG)? If all of the above doesn't work, could you provide us with an example image that is not working?
