Right. AbstractObjectReader constructs the EasyGenerationContentHandlerProxy (See line 64 in AbstractObjectReader) and uses that to initiate SAX events. The proxy then forwards the events to the real ContentHandler. If you just copy the ProjectTeamXMLReader and adjust it to your environment you should be fine.
