java.lang.RuntimeException java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundException
This looks like a problem specific to an old Xalan release distributed with JDK 1.4. Get a recent Xalan distribution and put the Xalan jar inot the lib/endorsed directory of the JDK.
