The border-collapse attribute may help. Have a look at the spec, and border.fo in the eg.'s > Have you tried adjusting the border-widths? ( Just asking because borders > seem to behave in a way which is not always what we're used to... ) or maybe compare with a printout - thin borders viewed at < 100% size get rounding errors on screen.
