Thanks a lot for the reply.
I was getting either parser/FOP errors or very bizarre
layout depending how I used those units.  

I just tried it again and is working like a charm. The
only thing I can think of is I must have swapped my
picas and points and was thus specifying dimensions
that were way to small.

My bad, I appreciate the assistance.
