Hi all (apologies for the cross-post) [TLDR - events are happening in July; stay tuned & help create more]
In a few weeks time (13th July to be precise), Foreman will be 7 years old. Taken alongside the upcoming 1.12 release (slated for the start of July, but no promises, of course) and the included Puppet 4 support, I think we need to make some noise ;) I've started to try an organise some regional in-person events to celebrate our communities efforts (and success!) with meetups, install days, talks etc. in the latter half of July. We only have a few weeks to go, so I'm asking for your help! To kick things off, I am going to be giving a Foreman talk at Edinburgh Techmeetup on our actual birthday (score!) July 13th. With some luck, this should be livestreamed, and I'll be sure to share the details with you all once I know more. After that, I have leads for events in east-coast US, Germany, and Israel, although nothing is 100% confirmed yet. I'll be sure to share the details on the mailing list and on theforeman.org/events as usual. So, where do I need help? Well, firstly, I want MORE events! If you want to have a local meetup, or hold some kind of hands-on event at any time between July 14th-31st, get in touch! I'll do everything I can to help you get that promoted and off the ground. If you already run a meetup, and would like a speaker, I can help find you one. If you'd like to speak and need an event to speak at, again, I can help match you up. All things are possible :) Secondly, spread the word! We have a fantastic community around a fantastic project, and we should all be proud of that. Let's make some noise in our local communities about the awesome tools we use :) Here's to a great 7th birthday (in the making)!
