It is not possible, as far as I know, to define the order of the
dependencies with maven. In my environment it uses the name of the jar files
in alphabetic order, but obviously not in you environment.

You can try
mvn dependency:build-classpath
to see what order you have
I will see if I can reproduce the problem with maven 2.0.7.
