Yes, another bug in the documentation. There are some version properties that
must be defined. Add this to the pom:
        <properties>
                <fornax-oaw-m2.version>1.0.4</fornax-oaw-m2.version>
                <hibernate.version>3.2.5.ga</hibernate.version>
                <spring.version>2.0.4</spring.version>
                <log4j.version>1.2.8</log4j.version>
                <commons-logging.version>1.0.3</commons-logging.version>
                <sculptor.version>1.1.0-SNAPSHOT</sculptor.version>
        </properties>

The archetypes are designed for multi project layout (see Archetype
tutorial) and therefore it gets complicated to use the same archetype for a
standalone project like this. I think we have to provide another archetype
for this standalone scenario.
