thanks for your fast answer. My test method looks as follows:

public void testFindCarByObjectId() throws Exception {
        Car car = carService.findCarByObjectId(getServiceContext(),
TESTCAR);
        assertNotNull(car);
        assertEquals(car.getObjectid(), TESTCAR);
}

That means, I have to invoke the populateAssociations() method, right? Can
this be done via AOP? But, why does it work in real application?
