The stage is set, and the tournament will take place this weekend.   All throughout the 2005 Skeeter Bass Champs regular season,  anglers have been working hard to qualify for the 2005 inaugural "International Challenge" on Lake Guerrero, Mexico.    The field is set and the stakes are high.   In total there will be 10 teams from the Skeeter Bass Champs tournament circuit (http://www.basschamps.com)  (The Richest Guaranteed Grass Roots Tournament Trail in the United States)  and 10 teams from the Con Cana Y Carrete Mexican tournament trail (http://www.apescar.net.)  (Details are listed below)
 
In addition the 3rd annual Bass Champs Presidents Cup will be filmed on Lake Guerrero on Monday, Aug 8th.  The Presidents cup is a Match play event held between Chad Potts, President of Bass Champs and Jeff Welch, Vice President of Bass Champs. (Both of which were former anglers on the BASS Professional Tournament Trail.)   The series currently stands at 1 & 1, with Chad Potts, winning the 1st competition on Mistle Toe Ranch,  and Jeff Welch winning the 2nd competition on Mountain Lakes.   The Presidents cup will also be filmed by the Bass Champs Television crew and will air on The Outdoor Channel and HD-NET in the upcoming Television season.
 
Details of the International Challenge:  (specific Itinerary is listed below Angler list)
 
The Tournament will be held this weekend (Sat 8/6 & Sun 8/7).  There will be 3 weigh-ins, as the event will consist of three (3) equal fishing blocks. 
Block # 1: Saturday, 8/6:  Fishing Times 6:30 AM to 11:30 AM:  Teams are allowed to bring in 5 fish 
Block # 2: Saturday, 8/6:  Fishing Times 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM:  Teams are allowed to bring in 5 fish 
Block # 3: Saturday, 8/7:  Fishing Times 6:30 AM to 11:30 AM:  Teams are allowed to bring in 5 fish 
 
The awards ceremony will be held Sunday, 8/7: Awards will be based on the cumulative weight from all three blocks.  Awards will be as follows (Guaranteed)
1st Place: $7,500   (Title of International Challenge Winners, both team members receive invitation to next years International Challenge and large cup Trophies.)
2nd Place: $5,000
3rd Place: $2,500
 
All Bass Champs teams receive $500 expense money, Free Lodging,  Free Food,  Free Entry Fee,  Free Apparel,  etc. 
 
The Bass Champs Television crew will be on hand to catch all of the action, and the show will air on The Outdoor Channel as well as HD-NET in the upcoming season.   The Cana Y Carrete Television crew will also be filming the event.

Thursday the 4th

-Meet at the Holiday Inn for overnight stay in McAllen, Texas

 

Friday the 5th

-6:00am Group leaves Holiday Inn of McAllen with escort

-6:30am Group crosses border

-10:00am Arrive at lodge at and assign rooms to competitors

-11:00am General meeting of all teams to explain rules, safety, and lake recommendations

-12:00pm Opening Ceremonies, to include Flag raisings, National anthems, Exchange of pennants, and special guest

-1:00pm Lunch for all contestants

-2:30pm The lake officially opens for practice

-8:00pm Official practice ends

-8:30pm Dinner served for all contestants

 

Saturday the 6th

-6:30am Official start time of event block I, all boats will leave in predetermined order

-11:00am All boats must arrive at official check-in location

-11:30am Scales close

-12:30pm Lunch for all Contestants

-3:00pm Official start time of event block II, all boats leave in predetermined order (reverse flight from block I)

-7:30pm All boats must arrive at official check-in location

-8:00pm Scales Close

-9:00pm Dinner for all contestants and special events

 

Sunday the 7th

-6:30am Official start time of event block III, all boats will leave in predetermined order (reverse flight from block II)

-11:00am All boats must arrive at official check-in location

-11:30am Scales close

-12:00pm Awards ceremony

-1:00pm Lunch for all contestants

-3:00pm Escort takes group back to American border
