1. John Wiley Australia Book Offer
Special Discounted Title
Since April 2002 the NSW Branch has enjoyed a partnership with John Wiley Australia
whereby RACI members are entitled to a 25% discount on all eligible Wiley titles (the
exceptions being those books classified as Higher Education and Encyclopedias). Each
year we run a special offer, with a discount of 40% on a selected title. This year the
approach is slightly different. Two titles are available at this 40% discount, AND,
if you are one of the first five orders received for either or both of these titles,
there is a third title given FREE!
The special 40% discounts are applicable to:
Encyclopedia of the Elements by P Enghag
ISBN: 3527 306668 RRP: $541.95 RACI Price: $325.17
Famous for its history of numerous element discoverers, Sweden is the origin of this
comprehensive encyclopedia of the elements. It provides both an important database
for professionals as well as detailed reading ranging from historical facts,
discoverers' portraits, colour plates of mineral types, natural occurrences, and
industrial figures to winning and refining processes, biological roles and
applications in modern chemistry, engineering and industry. Elemental data is
presented in fact tables which include numerous physical and thermodynamic properties,
isotope lists, radiation absorption characteristics, NMR parameters, and others.
Managing Scientists: Leadership Strategies in Scientific Research by A Sapienza
ISBN: 0471 226149 RRP: $61.95 RACI Price: $37.17
This Second Edition is the only guide directed at the specific needs of the
biotechnology and pharmaceutical research and development industries. It offers
practical advice, including real-life case studies, on improving the quality of
interactions and fostering creative output in an R&D setting. The book also provides
a new chapter on the issues faced by women scientists in industry and academia;
expanded materials on the concepts of motivations, leadership, communication, conflict
and project management; and new case studies for the assessment of organizational
culture.
The first five orders received for one or both of the above will also receive FREE a
copy of:
Science Firsts: From the Creation of Science to the Science of Creation by Robert E
Adler
