Dear GAP Forum, it is my great pleasure to announce that the ModIsom package for computing automorphisms and checking isomorphisms for modular group algebras of finite p-groups has been officially accepted as GAP package.
The package is authored by Bettina Eick (Braunschweig, Germany). It contains various methods for computing with nilpotent associative algebras. In particular, it contains a method to determine the automorphism group and to test isomorphism of such algebras over finite fields and of modular group algebras of finite p-groups. Furthermore, it contains a nilpotent quotient algorithm for finitely presented associative algebras and a method to determine Kurosh algebras. The package in its current version 2.3.2 is already contained in the latest official GAP distribution 4.7.6 which was released on 15.11.2014.
