There a 2 HEX editor modes. 1. Open file as the text switch to Hex and back. In this time during you open the file, some Code page conversion are made. In this time content of the active editor is transfered as the content of the hex editor and then is send back into text editor. In this mode some non text char (under ASCII #32) should be demaged
