Put cursor at end of file. Press CTRL+H to open replace window. Tick the use
regular expressions box. use \n to indicate line feeds if file type is NIX or

DOS file type. I tried the procedure that you gave. It replaced each >< with the
letter r followed by a new line. After that I searched (with regular expressions
ticked) for 
 and \r and \n. How can I search for and replace the end of the
line character. Your help is appreciated.
