After using UltraEdit for about 15 years, it has now finally become so bloated I want to throw up on it when not using it at work. While I am an avid vi-user on UNIX-systems, there is just nothing that compares to an EASY windows texteditor. PSPad did everything I needed from UltraEdit but with MUCH LESS BLOAT and footprint. Thank you, donation incomming.
If there is ANYTHING I would point out from my 45-minute session to set PSPad up the way I wanted it, it was that getting rid of the 80-column line was not very intuitive. I actually had to go to the FAQ and find: "How do I eliminate the grey thin line crossing the text area? Settings > Program Settings > Editor - Settings > set "Position of right edge" to 0" ... before I was able to figure it out. This setting is fine and all, but you should probably make it a toggle in the "view" menu-group, along with the rest of the "visible" toggles to make it even more intuitive. Thanks again! /Greetings from coooooooold Sweden. -- <http://forum.pspad.com/read.php?2,55166,55166> PSPad freeware editor http://www.pspad.com
