Sorry to bump an older thread, but I ran into the same thing last week and wanted to thank everyone in this topic - the notes here saved me a couple of hours of trial and error. I mostly edit config files and templates, so the highlighting and the compare plugin are what I rely on daily. One small thing that helped me: keeping a second PSPad window with the project tree pinned makes batch edits much less error-prone. Keep up the good work on the editor!
