Thanks to everyone who posted on this question. I installed the Aspiring-Technology software and it works great! It did just what I wanted on the port references. This is a really good users group! Thanks Charlie Upton ----------------- Protel users, Hi guys try this. It works and you can move your text. The popular Schematic Port Cross-reference Wizard for Protel 99 SE, normally sold as part of the Schematic Toolkit V2.0 for Protel 98, has been updated for Protel 99 SE and is free to anyone who downloads and registers at: http://www.aspiring-technology.com This version works with - Protel 99 SE SP5 - O N L Y, so ensure you have installed the latest Protel 99 service pack before bothering to download and install the server. - Aims of this server - The Schematic port cross reference wizard places text annotations next to all ports in a schematic project, showing what other pages and where on those pages these port names continue. On large multiple sheet schematics following the port connections between pages is difficult, and these annotations aim to help the reader follow the flow of wires and busses between sheets. Protel provided a port cross referencing tool starting with Protel 99 SE, but is does not allow customization of the format (these commands are located under the Report menu in Schematic). - Limitations - This server does not support complex sheet symbol/ port connections hierarchy. This hierarchy allows the port names to be ignored, and inter-sheet connections defined by wires between sheet symbols on a master page. This server relies on the port names being the same and this is how most schematics are drawn, unless they are multiple channel designs using complex hierarchy. In most circumstances designs are drawn using the same source and destination port names, so this limitation is minimal. Protel 99 SE added the functionality to have vertically oriented ports. When placing an annotation for a vertical port, this server places the text aligned to the outside of the port, horizontally oriented. Once placed like this the first time you can move them into your desired position and upon subsequent passes (as long as the option to override position is NOT ticked), the manually placed position will be retained. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * To post a message: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] * * To leave this list visit: * http://www.techservinc.com/protelusers/subscrib.html * - or email - * mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?body=leave%20proteledaforum * * Contact the list manager: * mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] * * Browse or Search previous postings: * http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
