This is a very powerful technique.
I'll add a note because it is something that is easily overlooked.
The Design/Classes.../Add menus allow prefixed wildcards as well as
suffixed. So one can also create net classes based on schematic page by
simply allowing the Synchronizer to add page suffixes, and then using the
wildcard "*_[pagenumber]" in the wildcard field. Note that wildcards must
be applied to a category (nonmember or member) that is not empty, it will
not transfer items from nonmember to member or vice-versa. Instead, one
displays all or part of the items one wishes to transfer, then push the >>
button to move all of them to member (or back with <<). There is also a rt.
click pop-up equivalent to the >> and << buttons, but I see no advantage in
using it.
Right-click pop-up in the DC/Net/Add menu has an option for Class
Generator, but it appears to do nothing. Likewise with From-To classes and
Pad classes.
But in DC/Components/Add, the Class Generator popup does the same thing as
the Class Generator pushbutton available from that menu: it brings up a new
menu which allows component classification by characteristics such as
designator wildcards, footprints, layer, and other characteristics, one of
the most powerful being Selection status.
