Madhu Sudan,

I have written here how you set-up your Wlink Cable Internet
connection(through GUI):
(If you did the same thing, please check that you have selected the right
device)

1. Go to: System -> Administration -> Network
2. Enter your root password
3. Click "New"
4. Choose xDSL Connection in "Device Type"
5. Then choose your "Ethernet Device",
6. Put any Provider Name (e.g wlink, cable.. or anything you like to refer
to that connection)
7. Select "Normal" in Account Type
8. Put "Login Name" and "Password"
9. Click "Apply" in the next prompt
10. Then "Activate" that connection


Hope it works.

If this does not works, please post "tail /var/log/messages" here.
