I don't know anything specific to Suse but have you tried Suse specific setup scripts? VirtualBox provides init scripts and as such, you can try: $ su - $ /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup If this complains, do a `uname -r`, install your kernel image + headers, and yum / rpm (whatever Suse uses).
