"Herculean" is, IIRC, the word which has historically been used in this context. What i cannot say is whether or not the existing libfossil code would easily amendable to the v2 changes. It would _not_ be a simple hacking session, of that i'm sure, but i can't estimate how big of an investment it would be, except to say "big". :/ i also can't say if/whether i'll ever be able to personally undertake it - i'm still wading through non-invasive back treatments, which the doctors demand that we exhaust before they finally give up and operate on me (none of the non-invasive treatments has held up long so far). After that (whenever it happens), i have no idea how long i'll be on my back in recovery, or whether i'll ever again be able to spend 12+ hours/day hacking :/. So... volunteers would be more than welcomed :). -- ----- stephan beal http://wanderinghorse.net/home/stephan/ "Freedom is sloppy.
