Regarding the use of ftp as a model for URLs - seems like a poor choice to
me but whatever works is fine. I didn't find the /// in any of the rfc's
for ftp - maybe it is a windowsism?

Anyhow, passwordless ssh works fine for me but I've tried every combination
I can think of and I always get this:

matt@zeus ~/data/mattswork % fossil sync
ssh://hermes///home/matt/fossils/mattswork.fossil
ssh -e none -T hermes
fossil: ssh connection failed: [Welcome to Ubuntu 11.10 (GNU/Linux
