Out of curiosity: is there a proxy between them? A caching proxy server
"might" explain this behaviour (in which case i think there's a workaround).

(e.g. when web-deploying client-side Java applications in enterprise
environments, caching proxies often cause some clients to be served older
JAR files until the cache expires or is reset.)
