Well, there's actually one problem with this that would be hard to overcome. That's knowing the actual address which they used for subscription. Because From headers and Envelope From headers can be fabricated, there's no guarantee that the address they use will be the one they used to subscribe, but, at least it's an effort. Some investigation could be done to analyze the pattern (e.g. see if they use the subscription address when sending the spam or not) prior to enabling such a thing.
