Hello, Do you know if for the GPLv2 and LGPLv2.1 we can replace the FSF address by an URL to gnu.org? Like this:
> You should have received a copy of the GNU Lesser General Public License > along with this library; if not, see <http://www.gnu.org/licenses/>. at the top of each source file. At [1] section "How to Apply These Terms to Your New Libraries", the FSF address is used, not the URL. But for version 3, it's the URL. So I wonder if for the 2.1 version we can also use the URL. Same for GPLv2. Because from time to time, there is a source file with the old FSF address that needs to be fixed, like this one: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=769895 Also, from a more practical matter, do you know if a script exists to replace license headers in a smart way (for C code at least)? Because the text can be wrapped at different places, there can be spaces differences, and the license header can contain the library or program name. Thanks, Sébastien [1] https://www.gnu.org/licenses/old-licenses/lgpl-2.1.html#SEC4 _______________________________________________ foundation-list mailing list foundation-list@gnome.org https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/foundation-list
