For week 3, Karlie Robinson provided an introduction to Open Source development and the students went onto irc.freenode.net #fedora-olpc to start an in-class on-line collaboration channel.
The session is captured (with some edits for clarity) here: http://wiki.laptop.org/go/RIT_honors_seminar%2C_developing_for_the_OLPC_XO/27_March_2009. <http://wiki.laptop.org/go/RIT_honors_seminar%2C_developing_for_the_OLPC_XO/20_March_2009.> An in class assignment was to do a quick evaluation of some of the Activity or Game offerings on the OLPC wiki. Notes are at this page: http://wiki.laptop.org/go/RIT_honors_seminar,_developing_for_the_OLPC_XO/Reference_Activities/Games Students then were asked to find preliminary interest groups in the room and draw up some ideas on a large 'napkin' to begin to capture their brainstorming. Such efforts should continue online. Thanks for your interest!
