Well, I have good news.  Yesterday, I was able to create a project in
Eclipse and use the make facilities of that environment too to compile
my source code.
It's still a bit unstable (I mean, I have to write down precisely what
I've done to make it work), but if there is interest, I'm certainly
willing to share this info.

Indeed, that's the one remaining "flaw" I have in Eclipse.  But in the
mean time, I successfully used DDD to debug my user space
applications.  And that's already great and a big step forward to me.
Hope, however, I will be able to fully switch to Eclipse one day,
since then I have everything together: editor, make and debug.
And to me, that's the ultimate in developer world...
