Thanks for the reply. 
Makes sense, but if I change the subnet I guess my router won't find
it since it seems to be operating on one subnet only ? Or changing it
will disable the rest of the computers on the current subnet ?
(I'm a beginner in this so I may be wrong!)
How can I get two subnets to work simultaneously ?
