While checking the hardware again I could now find that we had a hardware problem: For some reason we used different pins (slightly shorter than the ones we usually used with the classic Fox board for connection with the socket). The pins for supply voltage and serial ports had a good contact, so we did not suspect to have a contact problem at all. While checking the connection of the DS1302 RTC to the Fox board J6/J7 with the probe tips of an Ohmmeter, I realised that the contact of the RTC reset signal was unreliable (pressing with the probe tip contact o. k., releasing the probe tip slightly contact not o. k.). Conclusion: Kernel setup was correct, the hardware was faulty. RTC can be used now, again thank you very much! Best regards, Klaus
