I've tried flashing some LX816 boards thought the webinterface - and sometimes it failes. To me, it is completely random... Sometimes it works - sometimes it failes.
Anyway - this is basely what I see in my browser: Preparing system for upgrade ... Starting run level 4 (stop most daemons) ... Waiting for run level 4 to start ... Run level 4 started. Waiting for run level 4 to finish ... Run level 4 finished. Stopping some remaining processes. sending TERM signal ... Most processes stopped. The file system will be factory default before reboot. Unmounting file system /var ... umount /var failed with exit status: 1 Unmounting file system /mnt/flash ... Receiving new firmware ... No HWID in bootblock, continuing anyway. Erasing old file system ... 1% 3% 5% 7% 9% 11% 13% 15% 16% 18% 20% 22% 24% 26% 28% 30% 32% 33% 35% 37% 39% 41% 43% 45% 47% 49% 50% 52% 54% 56% 58% 60% 62% 64% 66% 67% 69% 71% 73% 75% 77% 79% 81% 83% 84% 86% 88% 90% 92% 94% 96% 98% 100% Loading new file system ... 1% 2% 3% 4% 5% 7% 8% 9% 10% 11% 12% 14% 15% 16% 17% 18% 20% 21% 22% 23% 24% 25% 27% 28% 29% 30% 31% 33% 34% 35% 36% 37% The last "Loading new file system ..." does not fail on the same percent always... Some times it's less and other times it gets further. So - what could be causing this behavior? When the flashing has failed, I often need to use the LAN flash method - to make them work again. As far as I can see, the entire firmware image is transfered to the board - and checked - before flashing... is that correct? It's a real pain having to LAN flash them - since some boards are located more then 50km frem where I am...
