first let me say: IT IS VERY DANGEROUS MODIFYING FDF FILES THROUGH G FILES! ok, now after that... I'm pretty sure you can buy the user documentation from Sherill-Lubinski. You'll want the complete document for SL-GMSDraw Dynamic Graphic Editor, including info about the g files. fdf files are proprietary to Foxboro (basically have a funky header). However, standard sl-gms files are _very_ similar to fdf files. So I would not bring Foxboro into your reasoning with SL, otherwise they will point you to Foxboro. If you are that interested in getting the information... off of <http://www.sl.com> SL Corporation -- Corporate Headquarters 240 Tamal Vista Boulevard Corte Madera, CA 94925 USA 415.927.1724 415.927.8416 fax email contact: [EMAIL PROTECTED] warning: Even with the documentation is won't be an easy feat to modify g files from fdf files. I was also very interested in the g files. The main goal I wanted to accomplish was to change normal text to rectangle (aka background) text. [Funny thing about not knowing whether you have bad connections or not.] Even when you know the pattern it's very difficult. The USER_DATA fields are incremented in a specific manner. Adding your own field is very complicated. Also positioning objects is complicated. If you position it wrong, you could crash your whole machine (ie put it too far off, and FoxView tries to allocate too much memory). remember: IT IS VERY DANGEROUS MODIFYING FDF FILES THROUGH G FILES! good luck! --- Sascha Wildner <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Hello, > > I'll probably get a lot of no's here, but anyway: > > Does anyone here have information about the details > of the GML language used in the .g files (aka > FoxView display dumps) produced with > /usr/fox/wp/bin/tools/fdf_g or > /usr/fox/wp/bin/tools/m1g?
