No, only install the sources (fpcsrc) Lazarus disk image in additional to what is already installed (which I assume is the official release from the Free Pascal website at http://www.freepascal.org/download.var). At least in the past, the Lazarus version of FPC 2.4.0 for Mac OS X was missing files: http://forum.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php/topic,8470.0.html I also don't think it is a good idea that Lazarus does its own packaging of official release versions of the compiler, because that can only lead to confusion and additional errors (as above -- now before finding out what the problem is, we have to figure out which FPC 2.4.0 they installed).
