I can confirm it's not in the build for Solaris.

I notice that when installing prebuilt binaries grab_vcsa is setuid root, but when building from source (svn or snapshot) it's only got basic permissions.

I think this belongs to the distribution package level. The binary tgz
distribution tries to set things up for systems without package system,
therefore it has it.

Currently the makefiles don't have a grasp of files with differing sets of
permissions. (other than executable or not).
