IIRC then we have such a check in TCustomEdit in LCL....
Well, the language does neither explicitly forbid nor allow it...
It's presumably not affected since neither method is empty, but
TStream.Seek(Offset: Longint; Origin: Word) is relying on this exact
same sort of check.
