OS Kernel, Compiler, any other project - what's the difference. Git development itself is managed in a very "distributed" way with multiple branches, maintenance releases etc. And more impressively, all branch merging is done by a single person. Their processes are quite well documented, and if you see how active the Git development is, it goes a long way proving that even a very active project can be managed by very few (one in this case).

My point is, you can learn from them to see how a project can be managed without adding extra work-load to one person or a small team (like FPC).
