What linker error did you get? You only posted "/usr/bin/ld: warning: link.res contains output sections; did you forget -T?", but as the message literally says that's a warning, not an error. For Linux, we assume the user set it up for development already using their distribution's specific method (if you installed FPC 2.6.4 using apt-get install, you should have everything you need already; if not, file a bug report with your distribution).
