Well, if you do an Update Book operation, FrameMaker opens and
saves all of the active files in your book to update the pagination
data,
After doing a book update you should be able to distinguish the
inactive files by their non-current "last modified" date stamps in any
directory listing.

My opinions only; I don't speak for Intel.

Subject: File Management Question

Another dumb question for the list :-)

I have a book in Framemaker, with each chapter as a separate file. I've

been rearranging things, and cutting chapters. Now, my data directory
has a bunch of files that are no longer in the book. Is there some way
(or an addon or anything) that will mark the "dead" files so I can move
them to a separate directory (or any similar operation)?

Thanks!

John
