As I see it, I am happier with a solid core FM program where the field is left open for 3rd party types to develop plugins. I'm sure there is much more collective creativity outside Adobe then could be assembled inside it. I've already experienced the collapse of one overlarded large document app (Ventura/Corel/whatever Publisher) and must deal daily with the grotesque bloat of MS Word with its endless array poorly implemented 'features'.
