And remember to turn off the Generate Acrobat Data option in the Print dialog, since that option suppresses registration and crop marks.

Gallagher Sent: Wednesday, April 25, 2007 6:05 PM To: framers@lists.frameusers.com Subject: Setting up a half page doc to print crop marks Framers, I'm sure there's a way to do this, but I'm missing it. I have a document that is meant to be a card that 8.5" x 5.5", so it will be printed on a half sheet of an 8.5 x 11 card on both sides. The final document will have a landscape orientation for the final size. (Hope that makes sense; the content fills one page in portrait, but is meant to be two sides of a half-page card.) It took me a while to get this to print correctly at all to the PDF. I set up FM with a 8.5 x 5.5 page size, laid it all out, and it looked fine. But, when I created the PDF, it would always come out with a portrait orientation, so the text was sideways. I didn't think I wanted that, so I created a custom paper size for my Adobe PDF printer driver set to 8.5 x 5.5 and using that, I get the two pages to print with the correct orientation. Now it's ready to go to the printer and I want to add crop marks, but I get an error saying that the crop marks won't fit on the page. I see why. The "page" is already set to 8.5 x 5.5. Feeling really dumb here. How do I get this to print with the correct orientation and with crop marks? Hope this makes sense. It's hard to describe. I keep wanting to hold up a piece of paper for you to see. ;) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Linda G.
