FrameMaker 8.0 introduced the option of including multimedia and 3D files (SWF/U3D) in the source FM files, that are then embedded in the PDF when the FrameMaker file is saved as PDF. In my opinion, the new options are minimalistic, and FrameMaker-to-Acrobat TimeSavers still provides many more abilities, which work equally well with previous versions of FM, as summarized in the following tables:
